Cordones Industriales

In Cordones Industriales stehen fünf Reinigungskräfte im Zentrum, die unter prekären Arbeitsbedingungen und in einem gewerkschaftsfeindlichen Umfeld versuchen, sich zu organisieren. Drohungen mit Entlassung und mysteriöse Flugblätter, die zu neuen Organisationsformen aufrufen, bilden den Ausgangspunkt einer gemeinsamen Suche.

Die Figuren tauchen ein in die Geschichte der Cordones Industriales – einer Bewegung, die 1972/73 Tausende von Arbeiter*innen in Chile vereinte, Fabriken besetzte und Produktion kollektiv organisierte. Das 2014 uraufgeführte Stück macht diese oft verdrängte Erfahrung kollektiven Widerstands sichtbar und bewahrt ein immaterielles Erbe der chilenischen Arbeiter*innengeschichte.

Tarea Urgente ist ein Theaterkollektiv aus Chile, das seit über 13 Jahren an der Schnittstelle von Theater, Geschichte und politischer Praxis arbeitet. Mit Cordones Industriales ist das Kollektiv erstmals in Berlin zu Gast. Vor der Vorstellung ist die Ausstellung Atando Cordones mit Materialien aus der Recherche des Kollektivs zu sehen. Im Anschluss findet ein Q&A mit dem Ensemble statt.

In Cordones Industriales, five cleaners take center stage as they try to organize under precarious working conditions, in an environment where union activity is actively discouraged. Threats of dismissal and the appearance of mysterious leaflets calling for new forms of organization set a collective search in motion.

The performers delve into the history of the Cordones Industriales – a movement that, in 1972 and 1973, brought together thousands of workers in Chile, occupied factories and collectively organized production. Premiered in 2014, the piece sheds light on this often overlooked experience of collective resistance and preserves an immaterial legacy of Chile’s working-class history.

Tarea Urgente is a theatre collective from Chile that has been working for over 13 years at the intersection of theatre, history, and political practice. With Cordones Industriales, the collective is appearing in Berlin for the first time. Before the performance, the exhibition Atando Cordones, featuring materials from the group’s research, is on view. A Q&A with the ensemble follows the show.
