Govoi

Govoi is a non-binary BIPOC media artist, specializing in film direction, cinematography, and storytelling. Their work also includes poetry, writing, and music composition. Govoi is passionate about using film to highlight the stories of QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and FLINTA (Femme, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans, and Agender) communities, offering fresh perspectives and challenging mainstream narratives. Govoi has worked in both pre-production and post-production, building collaborative teams and contributing as a cinematographer, camera assistant, light technician, and director. They have collaborated with organizations like ZDF, KIVVON, Uferstudios, and KWTV, and have worked on projects with the FemBlack Collective and in the queer ballroom community. With awards for poetry and film, they continue to evolve as an artist dedicated to creating inclusive and meaningful work. As technical co-director, Govoi has been part of the Ringtheater collective since 2024.
