MEHMET ÖZGÜR BAHÇECİ

Özgür (he/him) is a freelance dramaturg and actor. He co-founded gastkollektiv and the Bavul Theaterkollektiv and has been part of the Ringtheater collective since 2026. He has worked on stage, behind the scenes, and in front of the camera in various ensembles and projects in Istanbul and Berlin, and has taken on tasks ranging from artistic direction to organizational and technical activities at international theater festivals. He earned an M.A. in dramaturgy from Istanbul University and a PhD in theater studies from Freie Universität Berlin and has worked at the University of Groningen and Bilgi University. His artistic and academic focus is on anti-colonialism, acting theories and training, and collective play development.
