Saskia Ottis
Saskia Ottis is a dramaturg and curator specialising in performance and dance. She is particularly interested in experimental and interdisciplinary approaches and develops artistic projects that engage with socio-political issues and create spaces for temporary communities. From 2017 to 2021, Saskia was part of the artistic leadership and management team at Berlin’s Ringtheater, where she shared responsibility for establishing the venue and played a key role in driving its development. She was closely involved in its structural development and professionalisation and helped to further develop and sharpen the theatre’s artistic profile. She placed particular importance on working with emerging artists, supporting them throughout their production processes both dramaturgically and organisationally.
Saskia studied Theatre, Film and Media Studies in Vienna and Leipzig before completing a Master’s degree in Dramaturgy at the Theatre Academy Hamburg. Since 2021, she has been a member of the programming team at HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts in Dresden, where she is responsible for artistic projects within the Alliance of International Production houses. Saskia is part of a community dedicated to developing new and better ways of working and is committed to institutional change towards sustainable, future-oriented models of production and work.
