WANDELN_eine DRAGische Verwanderung

Abandoned sleeping mats, rusty camping chairs, plastic waste. An athletic hiker in bright outdoor gear, a talkative scientist, and a barefoot prophet with a visionary gaze. Then, suddenly, it speaks: the ancient voice of Brandenburg’s highest and most mythical peak.

In this bold queer-feminist satire of the “lone mountain hiker,” a diverse collective of performers builds a room-filling pop-up mountain. With humour, tenderness, and empowerment, they offer a counter-image to the imperial fantasies of conquest cherished by the bros of this world. The audience enters a fluid landscape of mountain, tree, bacterium, wind, animal, and human. It becomes part of a self-grown ecosystem of material and sound, exploring shifting connections between artificial and natural matter and new forms of more-than-human cooperation.

***

The performances on 19 and 23 September will be relaxed performances. The doors will remain open, audience members may leave and re-enter, and vocalising, movement and other forms of expression are explicitly welcome and respected.
