Dissolution (Trailer)
The performance „Dissolution“ is a search for sensitivity and a process of mourning. The performers – Jeanna Kolesova, Kira Shmyr, Miriam Cochanski, Victoria Sarangova and Ziliä Qansurá – explore how sensitivity to differences has been repeatedly erased and how this sensitivity can reemerge. They invite each other, along with the audience, into spaces where something or someone was absent and left unmourned. Queer, trans, Indigenous, non-Russian, disabled and nonhuman perspectives—often separated by Russian rules—are reinterpreted through relationships of interdependence. The colonial notion of a single form of justice with a singular collective memory begins to dissolve. Instead of dreaming up a general future for a „free Russia“, the artists mourn the steppes, mountains, swamps, stones, animals, lost languages, spirits, and people. Grief permeates everything. All is in a state of dissolution – texts, visuals, sounds, felting, embroidery and magic instructions play in a nonlinear way.
