Our universe experiences constant transformation, evolution, death, and rebirth, and transgender people feel this in our everyday existence. In Trans/generations, a team of trans and genderqueer performing artists (elena rose light with Cristina Leoni-Osion, Alice Nogueira, and Jäckie Rydz) invite audience-participants to join us in a 3-day performative workshop centered around an oracle deck of diverse trans heroes (both human and non-human). Together, we will explore transition through movement, meditation, ritual, drawing, and writing.

People of all gender identities are welcome to join. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in. You may drop in for a single workshop or come for all 3. Ticket reservations needed for each workshop day. COVID-testing is encouraged.

Friday, June 21, 19h-22h: The Past

How can we connect with the beings who came before us, both those recorded and left out of history? Our opening evening workshop will introduce audience-participants to our oracle deck of trans-cestral practices and their connections to Berlin.

Saturday, June 22, 14h-18h: The Present

What do you need to experience embodied joy right here and now? We’ll explore this question through somatic practices and guided movement, then develop our own oracle cards to add to the deck.

Sunday, June 23, 14h-18h: The Future

If the only sure thing about the future is the inevitability of death, how can we gather tools to welcome our own disintegration? Through dance and drawing, we’ll take this day as an opportunity to consider what kinds of ancestors we want to become.
